Illegal Dinos & Illegal Bases
You may have gotten a geno with an "illegal" base, or heard people talking about an "illegal" design - this simply means an old import or geno from before marking & color rules were updated!
In the past, marking rules weren't defined the same way, and colors had different saturation standards, so any imports or genos created during this time are now considered "illegal"!

My Dino Has an Illegal Base
If your dino's base is "illegal" it becomes legalized when uploaded on to the site! What this means is that the actual import still has the original base, but the new legal base is what will be used in breedings. If you use a Makeover Formula, you can still keep this base, however, if you ever change it to its legal version, you cannot go back!
Genos with illegal bases can see their original base in the geno's description. You may still keep their original base color in the design! However, the new legal base will be used in breedings

If your dino's design is "illegal" there are some limitations in how you can edit the design:
- If updating to a new base, the illegal design features can be kept. If you choose to legalize it during a base transfer, you cannot go back!
- You cannot legalize parts of a design and keep some illegal parts - if legalizing, it must be the entire design!
- If you ever use a Makeover Formula, or an item that needs a Makeover Formula, the design must be made legal
- The only exceptions are the base color, and the dimorph IF the dino has had offspring
- Children with parents who have Illegal Dimorphs will have to still follow the legal dimorph rules; so if its a dimorph with two edge types, you will have to choose one. Or if the parent's dimorph is larger than current standards, the child cannot have a dimorph the same size, etc.
