EXP Submissions Guide
This page is meant to be a step-by-step guide in how to do EXP submissions on the lorekeeper website!
EXP can be a little confusing, especially for characters that have a lot of art attached to them, which is why its important to get everything logged and accounted for! As always, feel free to reach out for help thru our Discord server or site forums!
Click on a dropdown to find info on each kind of EXP submission!

New exp check-ins
New EXP Check-Ins
These check ins are meant for art pieces that have NEVER been counted before - if your dinosaur already has some EXP and you aren't sure which images are counted or not, please go to the next section, EXP Corrections!

------------- Step 2. -------------
Insert a link to the individual piece of media that you would like counted!
Remember that this must be something that has NEVER been counted before!
Only link one thing per submission, so each can be counted individually. If its a multi-paneled image, such as a comic or quest set that has multiple pictures of the same character, then you can submit that entire image to be counted as one check!
Lastly, artists and/or collaborators must be credited (either by being uploaded in the artist's gallery, or linked), and the media link must be part of some form of gallery/collection - direct image links or downloads will not be accepted!

------------- Step 3. -------------
Add in your EXP count!
It's not required that you do this yourself, but it can be helpful if there are certain bonuses or ways you want the EXP counted. If left blank, it will be left to a mod discretion
If the media was uploaded on or before October 2022, you will need to include additional information to prove it has not been counted before!
If the deviantArt import is level 1, then that's all the proof you'll need since level 1 means they never got any more EXP added when they were uploaded to lorekeeper!
Other forms of proof can include a link to an old deviantArt EXP check-in comment and old tracker

------------- Step 4. -------------
Link all imports that are necessary for counting - the character receiving the EXP should be set as the focus.
There should only be 1 focus character!
If there are multiple characters in the image, still link them so that you can get the feature bonuses, but each character will need their own separate submission to get their EXP

exp corrections
EXP Corrections
These corrections are meant as a catch-all to fix EXP discrepancies - no new counts are added through corrections!
If your character's dA import is higher than level 1, they will need a correction! For new counts, see the New EXP Check-In above!
Corrections can include: differences between EXP earned on deviantArt and what was granted upon site upload, or a counting error on site EXP (a quest submission where the EXP was incorrect for example).

Option 1: Import was not granted all their deviantArt EXP when uploaded to the site
This is if your character's last dA EXP check amount does not match what was granted upon site transfer
This is if your character's last dA EXP check amount does not match what was granted upon site transfer
As you can see above, Grizabella was only granted 90 EXP when she was uploaded, even though she was level 4 on dA, and had a total of 109.5 EXP accounted for. This is because, when a mod uploads an Import, they do not have access to the deviantArt check comment (these are not tracked by staff), and so a base amount of EXP is granted to cover the level from their original import.
But why was it 90 EXP and not 120 EXP? This is because all website imports start at Level 1, and so if 120 EXP was added to Grizabella, she would've been level 5 and not level 4. 90 EXP was added since she was missing 3 levels

To correct this
Remember, no new EXP is counted during corrections! Only counting errors are fixed! |
Option 2: A site submission's EXP was counted wrong
This is if there was missing or miscounted EXP on a lorekeeper submission.
This is not for recounts on already approved dA EXP, nor for submissions that do not grant EXP (such as breedings)

- Step 1: make an EXP Corrections submission
- Step 2: link the incorrect submission
- Step 3: explain how the count is incorrect (i.e. was there a missing bonus, or did you want to contend how something was counted, etc.)
- Step 4: link your import in the submission as the focus character
